Brian is a Principal at MOA ARCHITECTURE and the firm’s Director of Science + Technology. With more than 20 years of experience in project coordination, management, and quality control, he brings deep expertise in delivering complex projects for clients with highly specialized technical spaces, including laboratories and manufacturing facilities. Brian is a strong advocate for the design-build delivery method and has managed multiple award-winning design-build projects, including a recipient of the DBIA National Award of Excellence. Known for embracing complexity and challenging convention, he encourages innovation within his project teams and helps clients navigate options by clearly outlining opportunities, trade-offs, and outcomes. Brian believes the best projects result from the best processes and is committed to guiding teams and clients through a thoughtful, collaborative design and construction experience.
Favorite MOA Project
My favorite MOA project is the DaVita World Headquarters. The project demanded close coordination with the entire design, construction, and ownership team, and DaVita’s willingness to let us push the envelope and challenge convention allowed us to create better, more thoughtful spaces. From zero lot lines and building on existing foundations and a parking structure, to coordinating with the realigned light rail, Union Station development, city setback variances, RTD and railroad easements, and a high water table, the challenges were complex—but we solved them together. It’s a piece of the Denver skyline I’m proud to point to.
