MOA is a Goldilocks firm — small enough to give clients a truly curated design experience, and big enough to take on large, complex projects. We work across virtually every commercial project type, and as Director of Science and Technology, I get to solve problems for some of the most innovative and groundbreaking companies in Colorado. It's the kind of work where no two days look the same.

My Why

I found MOA on the back nine.

I was paired with Jere Eggleston at a golf tournament, and somewhere between holes he started describing the projects he was working on. It sounded genuinely exciting — the kind of work I wanted to be part of. By the time we reached the last hole, I told him I might be interested in joining. He connected me with Barry Koury, and after a surprisingly brief interview — which is unusual for Barry — I came on board as a Job Captain in 2003. MOA's 20th employee.

Both Jere and Barry became mentors to me. They've since retired, but the example they set — in how they worked, how they led, and how they cared about this place — has stayed with me.

Fast forward two decades: we're three times the size, and I have the opportunity to lead a firm I grew up in. That's not something I take lightly.

Favorite MOA Project

My favorite MOA project is the DaVita World Headquarters. The project demanded close coordination with the entire design, construction, and ownership team, and DaVita’s willingness to let us push the envelope and challenge convention allowed us to create better, more thoughtful spaces. From zero lot lines and building on existing foundations and a parking structure, to coordinating with the realigned light rail, Union Station development, city setback variances, RTD and railroad easements, and a high water table, the challenges were complex—but we solved them together. It’s a piece of the Denver skyline I’m proud to point to.
