MOA Receives Multiple 2019 A4LE Awards

Dec 11, 2019

The Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) held its Rocky Mountain Chapter Annual Holiday Party on December 11, 2019 where MOA received multiple awards. A4LE is an organization that brings together educational design, planning, and administrative professionals to imagine, promote, and realize a world in which place serves as a catalyst for inspired learning.

Jack Mousseau, an MOA Principal and longtime active participant of A4LE, received the Dr. William R. Maclay Award for Planner of the Year. This award acknowledges the outstanding level of service, performance, or achievement in planning. The award recognizes Jack’s 34 years of service to numerous school districts throughout Colorado and the Western US, with a focus on his recent leadership of the Pueblo School District 60 Master Plan, which has been also recognized by A4LE.

MOA projects also received two awards: the “Mountains and Plains” Merit Award for the Pueblo School District 60 Facilities Master Plan, in collaboration with HGF and thinkSMART Planning, and the “Peak Design” Merit Award for the Great Work Montessori PK-5 School in Lakewood, CO.

A4LE designates the “Mountains and Plains” Merit Award to a project that excelled in long-range planning for programs, master planning in educational spaces, and for bond programs. The Pueblo School District 60 Master Plan addressed declining enrollment and aging, outdated facilities, and required high levels of community engagement and involvement.
