A Hub for Innovation and Research
Bioscience 2 is a 112,000-SF, four-story medical research and academic facility located on the Fitzsimons Innovation Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Delivered under a design/build contract with Mortenson Construction for the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority and the University of Colorado Denver, the project provides a collaborative environment for education, research, and private development. The LEED Gold–certified facility plays a key role in supporting the region’s growing bioscience ecosystem.

Designing for Discovery and Collaboration
At the core of the design was a shared goal: to create a flexible, future-ready research facility that fosters collaboration between academia and industry. To meet the clients’ top priorities of schedule and budget, MOA and Mortenson implemented an integrated project delivery model that allowed for early coordination, efficient decision-making, and optimized performance. The building was designed with adaptability in mind, with carefully planned pathways and systems to accommodate the evolving needs of laboratories, research teams, and commercial tenants.
