Classrooms Shaped by Earth’s Ecosystems

The design of Little Raven Elementary is rooted in the idea that learning flourishes when students feel connected to each other, their environment, and the broader world. Classroom pods are themed around Earth’s ecosystems, from rainforest to desert to ocean, creating immersive spaces that inspire curiosity and wonder. Input from families, educators, and community leaders shaped every decision, ensuring the school reflects the values and needs of its users. At the entry, a tree grows from the wall, its roots illustrated with imagery from cities worldwide, symbolizing unity, growth, and global connection. Throughout the design, indoor and outdoor spaces are woven together to create a seamless environment for exploration, collaboration, and play.

A Community Built on Inclusion

Little Raven Elementary is a hub for community life. Playgrounds, athletic fields, and gymnasiums are open to neighbors, fostering year-round engagement and connection. Students benefit from flexible, inclusive spaces that support diverse learning styles and promote wellness through natural light, tactile finishes, and access to outdoor learning areas. The school’s design strengthens cultural awareness, celebrates Indigenous heritage, and provides a lasting space where students, families, and the wider community can come together. Little Raven stands as a testament to collaboration, inclusivity, and the transformative power of thoughtful design.
