Guided by the “small schools” educational concept, the design established four separate learning communities to promote student success, collaboration, and identity within the larger campus. Open, light-filled circulation areas, remodeled media spaces, and updated amenities were crafted to encourage interaction, foster engagement, and create a safe, welcoming environment. The project also integrated sustainable and modernized MEP systems to improve long-term performance and comfort.
The project transformed Hinkley High School into a vibrant, high-performing campus that supports academic, artistic, and life skills programming. Expanded classrooms, technology labs, and specialized spaces accommodate diverse learning needs, while the new commons areas and remodeled amenities strengthen social connections and school community. This carefully phased renovation demonstrates that complex, large-scale educational projects can be delivered safely, efficiently, and without disrupting day-to-day operations.
