Expanding Access to Primary & Urgent Care in Palisade
The Grand Valley Primary Care & Acute Care Clinic expands access to essential healthcare services in Palisade, Colorado, bringing family practice and urgent care to a community where these services were previously limited. Designed in partnership with Community Hospital and the Town of Palisade, the one-story outpatient facility includes exam rooms, imaging, and laboratory services to support comprehensive ambulatory care. The project also improves site circulation and parking for the clinic, the adjacent community gym, and the neighboring fire station, while providing convenient patient drop-off, close-in patient parking, and ambulance access.

Designed for Today, Adaptable for Tomorrow
The vision for the Grand Valley Primary Care & Acute Care Clinic grew from a shared commitment to strengthen healthcare access while supporting the evolving needs of a small but growing community. Working in partnership with Community Hospital and the Town of Palisade, the design team created a facility that serves immediate medical needs while remaining flexible for the future. Adaptability became a key driver, with the building thoughtfully planned to function today as a family practice and urgent care clinic while allowing for potential conversion to retail or restaurant use over time. Site design also played a critical role, as the clinic shares its surroundings with a community gym and fire station, prompting improvements to circulation, access, and safety, including close-in patient parking, a dedicated drop-off zone, and ambulance access that support both operational efficiency and user convenience.
Closing the Gap in Local Healthcare
The Grand Valley Primary Care & Acute Care Clinic fills a critical gap in local healthcare access, providing residents with convenient options for routine care and urgent medical needs closer to home. By reducing travel time and improving availability of services, the clinic supports healthier outcomes and strengthens community well-being. The project also enhances shared infrastructure for neighboring public services, improving circulation, safety, and usability for the clinic, community gym, and fire station. With its adaptable design, the building offers long-term value by allowing the space to evolve alongside the Town of Palisade’s changing needs, creating a flexible community resource that supports health, safety, and future growth.
