Denver School of Science & Technology College View Campus
The Denver School of Science & Technology (DSST) College View campus in southwestern Denver serves 900 middle and high school students, offering a STEM-focused education within the DPS district. DSST schools operate as charter schools with greater autonomy while remaining part of the broader Denver Public Schools system. The College View campus was originally developed in collaboration with nearby Colorado Heights University (CHU), allowing students to share facilities and experience a unique learning environment that extended beyond traditional K–12 education.

DSST’s mission emphasizes equity, innovation, and preparing students for college and career success through rigorous STEM education. The College View campus was designed to embody this mission, fostering collaboration, creativity, and community. Following CHU’s closure in 2017, MOA ARCHITECTURE designed a new cafeteria addition and other improvements that negotiate a challenging 40-foot grade change. The building’s geometric forms and varied materials—brick, CMU, metal panel, and glass—reflect the analytical and inventive spirit of STEM learning, while interior commons spaces support community engagement and daily school rituals.
The completed campus provides modern, flexible learning environments that support DSST’s educational philosophy and serve as a hub for both middle and high school students. Features like dual commons areas, “morning meetings,” and shared collaborative spaces foster connection and active learning. By combining thoughtful design with DSST’s STEM-focused vision, the College View campus strengthens student engagement, supports academic success, and exemplifies how charter schools within DPS can innovate while remaining an integral part of the public education system.
