Dawg Nation Ice Arena
Dawg Nation Ice Arena was envisioned as a pioneering three-sheet hockey facility in Castle Pines, Colorado, designed to serve both able-bodied and differently abled athletes. The project aimed to provide adaptive ice sports opportunities, including sled hockey, youth and adult leagues, figure skating, and community skating programs. While the facility has not been built due to unmet fundraising goals and escalating construction costs, the vision reflects DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation’s ongoing commitment to inclusive recreational opportunities and support for hockey families in need.

The arena was inspired by the Dawg Nation adult hockey team, a group that has played together for nearly two decades. Following the loss of a beloved teammate, the team established the DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation, a nonprofit that has provided over $4 million in support to families facing injury, illness, or loss. The foundation envisioned a world-class ice arena as a way to expand its impact, offering accessible hockey and skating opportunities for all athletes. To help make the vision possible, over $10 million in in-kind donations from designers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors—including MOA—were pledged to support the project.
Although the Castle Pines facility has not come to fruition, the DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation continues to make a meaningful impact through its existing programs. The foundation empowers both able-bodied and differently abled athletes to gain confidence and independence through ice hockey at local, national, and international levels. By supporting families in times of crisis and fostering an inclusive hockey community, the foundation’s work keeps the vision alive for a facility that could one day serve athletes of all abilities, while showcasing the collaborative spirit of organizations like MOA that stand behind the mission.
