The design was driven by the need to accommodate highly technical systems while maintaining efficiency and flexibility. With over 200 miles of data cabling, 95 miles of fiber optic cable, 18,000 SF of raised computer flooring, and extensive rooftop HVAC and UPS systems, every aspect of the building was engineered to support advanced computing and development activities. The inclusion of a 35,000-SF computer room and a 300-seat auditorium highlights the importance of operational capacity, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the organization.
The completed Northrop Grumman AUC-9 facility provides a robust, reliable environment for aerospace and defense software development. Despite the specialized requirements and fast-track schedule, the addition was completed and commissioned on time, enabling uninterrupted operations. The design ensures both the technical and functional needs of the organization are met while supporting collaboration, efficiency, and growth.
