A Landmark for Music Education and Campus Identity

The Casper College Music Facility is a state-of-the-art, 21st-century music center that provides a landmark presence at the entrance to campus. Situated along a hillside, the building houses a 417-seat concert hall, rehearsal spaces for instruments and percussion, a 65-seat choral rehearsal hall, practice rooms, classrooms, faculty studios, and support spaces—all designed to support a comprehensive music education program. This project was designed in partnership with HMS Architects.

A Harmonious Journey Through Sound and Space

The design reflects both elegance and functionality, emphasizing natural light, acoustical quality, and spatial organization. A concave façade symbolically “embraces” visitors arriving on campus, while a luminous roof monitor acts as a beacon for the surrounding community. Internally, these elements define the main lobby and concourse, guiding students and visitors through a series of interconnected spaces that are bathed in daylight. The building’s design thoughtfully integrates rehearsal and performance spaces into a cohesive, visually striking environment.

Transforming Music Education Through Design

The new facility elevates the educational experience for Casper College music students, providing spaces that support both individual practice and ensemble performance. With professional-grade acoustics and dedicated spaces for instruction, recording, and performance, the building enhances the college’s music program while serving as a cultural resource for the community. This landmark facility reflects the college’s commitment to fostering artistic excellence and creating a welcoming, inspiring environment for students, faculty, and visitors alike.
