- New Construction
ASTS was designed to foster curiosity, collaboration, and innovation, reflecting its STEM-focused mission. The proximity to research institutions inspired classrooms and labs that integrate real-world science and technology applications, preparing students for future careers in STEM fields. The design emphasizes flexibility, with Phase 2 completed to expand commons areas, classrooms, and multi-use learning spaces that support both collaborative and independent learning. The building’s exterior, featuring brick masonry, metal paneling, and large windows, aligns with the Fitzsimons Innovation Community’s design guidelines while providing ample natural light and visual connections to the surrounding campus.
With both phases complete, ASTS now fully supports a comprehensive STEM curriculum, combining specialized science labs, collaborative learning environments, and community-oriented spaces. The facility provides students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences while promoting engagement, teamwork, and innovation. Its thoughtfully designed layout and modern amenities enhance Aurora’s educational landscape and offer students the tools and inspiration to pursue higher education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. ASTS stands as a model for integrating rigorous academics with flexible, future-ready learning spaces.
