Jack Mousseau, AIA, is a former President/Principal of MOA ARCHITECTURE and our co-leader for PK–12 planning and design, with 24+ years focused on creating better places to learn. He’s helped shape hundreds of schools—especially for rural, tribal, and underserved communities—by mixing data-driven rigor with real listening (the kind that involves more than nodding thoughtfully). Nationally, he’s known for advancing equitable, culturally responsive design. An A4LE leader for two decades and Educational Planner of the Year (2019), Jack is widely respected as a mentor who can navigate a community meeting, a master plan, and a coffee line with equal grace. If schools had report cards, many of his would come home with straight A’s and a note that says, “Thanks for believing in us.”
Favorite MOA Project
DaVita World Headquarters came to MOA through an intense national design competition that brought out the very best in our team and talents. A highly visible building in Denver's urban fabric, DaVita anchors the west end of Denver’s 16th Street Mall with a community-oriented, “village” workplace wrapped in blue glass and topped by a dramatic sloped roof that cantilevers over the plaza. Its design is intentionally intertwined with the adjacent Millennium Bridge: the façade reflects the bridge’s white spire, and the roofline angles 90° to that spire to form a clear architectural dialogue. DaVita helped spark the Union Station/LoDo revival and reinforced Denver’s identity as a vibrant, urban, transit-connected business center.
