Gardner’s path to architecture began after completing his undergraduate degree in English Literature and gaining hands-on experience working in construction. He was drawn to the technical problem-solving inherent in the construction process and to architecture as a profession where thoughtful design can positively impact people’s lives.
He discovered a passion for K–12 school design during his first year of graduate school and went on to serve as a project manager on school projects across Colorado for more than fifteen years. Gardner now brings that depth of technical knowledge and project management experience to his role as Specification Manager at MOA.

Favorite MOA Project
My favorite MOA project is Prospect Valley Elementary School. I love seeing the kids play in the circle windows at the entrance—it’s such a simple design element, but it brings so much life and joy to the building. Watching students interact with the space as they arrive makes the school feel playful, welcoming, and truly designed with children in mind.
